- watching educational videos, listening to podcasts;
- personal practical activities.
Informal education is a continuous process that lasts throughout life, contributing to personal development and enhancing competitiveness in the labor market.
At the Odesa Institute of MAUP, the integration of formal, non-formal, and informal education is actively encouraged. This approach allows higher education students not only to acquire fundamental knowledge but also to:
- expand professional horizons;
- increase mobility in the labor market;
- develop self-learning and critical thinking skills;
- remain competitive in a globalized world.
Recognition of learning outcomes acquired in non-formal and/or informal education is permitted for educational components included in the curriculum pursued by the student. The validation procedure is usually carried out before the start of the semester in which the relevant educational component is scheduled according to the curriculum.
Recognition of learning outcomes acquired in non-formal and/or informal education applies to both compulsory and elective courses / educational components of the curriculum, except for the component related to the preparation of a qualification thesis. A mandatory condition for recognizing non-formal/informal learning outcomes within an elective component of the educational program is the compliance of these outcomes with the education level at which the program is implemented.
A higher education student cannot be exempted from attestation based on the recognition of non-formal and/or informal learning outcomes.
An individual (applicant) applies to the dean of the institute/faculty where they study (or to which they are transferred or reinstated) with a request to recognize the learning outcomes obtained through non-formal and/or informal education.
The application must be accompanied by an educational declaration of prior learning and supporting documents confirming the information stated in the declaration (certificates, diplomas, transcripts, etc.), if available.
