18 Sep 2026

On September 17, 2026, an informative and practical training session dedicated to adapting to student life took place at the Odesa Institute of MAUP.

The event was presented by institute lecturers and senior students who are members of the "Psychologist" scientific club, who created an atmosphere of support, open communication, and mutual aid for the first-year students.

Dr. Alla Nerubasska, Doctor of Philosophical Sciences and Head of the Department of General Scientific, Social, and Behavioral Disciplines, presented the topic "Stress and Its Consequences for Us," speaking on the causes of stress, its impact on psycho-emotional well-being, and strategies for maintaining psychological resilience.

Student Ombudsman Daria Orlova-Sakivska joined the meeting to introduce the first-year students to the services available at the Odesa Institute of MAUP and shared practical advice on successfully adapting to first-year studies.

The practical portion of the training was conducted by fourth-year student and Head of the "Psychologist" club Mariia Arykul alongside senior lecturer and probation service psychologist Roman Aseiev. Participants mastered effective exercises for overcoming stress, improving emotional well-being, and developing self-regulation skills.

Together, we learned proper breathing techniques, identified resourcing and supportive events, communicated, shared personal experiences, and fostered a warm emotional climate.

The meeting was organized to support first-year students in adapting to their studies amidst wartime conditions, strengthening psychological resilience, and enhancing the emotional well-being of all participants in the educational process.

Together we are stronger. Together we learn to support ourselves and others.
